Keeping up with the JONESES

Tonight at church we heard about "Keeping up with the Joneses".

The Bible says that it is wrong to envy our neighbor. When we envy others it makes us unhappy. How much are we open to accept God's will in our lives? The envy we have is worthless, the Bible calls this vanity! So you have a big new house, a big new truck- What did you trade this for? Will it get you to Heaven? Nope! We need to have an eternal perspective. We need to make sure that we are Heaven bound, SAVED by the blood of Christ.

Mark 8:36 "For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?"

Personal Testimony

I was doing "well" for the average joe. I had a husband, a home, two beautiful children, a dog, 2 cars. Something was missing. It was LOVE. Not just any love it was the LOVE of JESUS! It was 2 a.m. I was on the phone. I was telling my friend how the weekend, husband, children they were just not enough anymore. Something was missing, and she told me what it was. She shared Christ with me. How He died for me and my sins, and all I had to do was accept Him. How could I do that? I had done some things that I was not to proud of.. How could I ever be forgiven for them? Then she told me that He paid for them already and that it is a free gift, all I had to do was accept HIM. I could not come before God with anything, but the blood of Christ. That was the only thing that could make me whole! That night, I prayed, I accepted Christ as my personal Saviour.. You too, can do the same.
