Knowledge

Ryan has completed his very first week at school. He is attending Bridgerland Applied Technology College. He is taking classes in Electronics and Industrial Automation. Here is a circuit board that they did on Friday. This is a non-functioning circuit, he was practicing his soldering skills. When he is done, he will be a certified Electronic Industrial Automated Technician.

Proverbs 1:7 " The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction".

Happy Birthday To YOU..

Jaden is officially 11 years old. Happy Birthday Jaden. We got him a new alarm clock. This is not an ordinary clock, it is a SONIC BOOM! You see, Jaden, loves to sleep. He sleeps so well that he can have 5 alarms going off at one time and he does not awake. The only thing that gets him going is a good kick in the pants! So we decided to get him the unsleepable alarm. Not only is it loud enough to wake the neighbors, it also has a bed shaker. So you wake feeling refreshed as well as startled. See you in the morning son, Love Dad and Mom.

Psalms 4:8 "I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety".

Reformers

Last night at our weekly Reformers meeting, we worked on our "One way, One truth, One life, Once to die" handouts. Jesus is the ONLY way to freedom. The world teaches us that we can solve our problems through self help programs. The thinking is, you must think higher of yourself. Being proud of ourselves is the best way to overcome hardships. This is WRONG! Pride will only bring you lower.
Proverbs 16:18 "Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.
Proverbs 29:23 "A man's pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit"

Scarlet Fever

I do not know if you can see this, but Joshua has little bumps all over his body. (If you click on the picture it will show you a close up.) It is Scarlet Fever. That sounds scary , but it is not. It is a reaction to having strep throat. Some people are allergic to strep and this is how their body reacts. Sounds weird I know, but I think it is helpful. I always know when he has strep and if it is worth the 20$ copay to see the doctor.
Exodus 23:25 "And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee".

Waiting for Him

This week Ryan is gone, gone, gone. He is going to school from 8-2:30. He then stops here to pick up his lunch for a whole 2 minutes. Then he heads to work from 3:30-2a.m.. I miss him. This week however, will be one of a kind. He is quitting his job to become a FULL TIME student. I can not wait to see him, for more than 2 minutes that is.
Romans 8:25 "But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it".

Reformers

Tonight at our weekly Reformers Meeting, we learned about Principal #2. "Every sin has it's origin in our heart". Our heart has a switch. We need to switch our heart to follow God. We need to pull our heart to do what God wants, what God does. We have two different natures.. The human (sinful) nature, and the Spirit (Christ dwelling within) nature. The one that we feed is the one that will win. If we are in our Bibles, praying, going to church, seeking God in all things then we will win the victory.
Proverbs 23:7 "For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he:".

MMMMMMmmmm Good

After a doctor visit for my mother, she took us all out to lunch at Denny's in Tremonton. Jaden really enjoyed his Moons-Over-My-Hammy. I had a Mushroom Swiss Burger, Ryan the usual Grand Slam breakfast, Jurney a Classic Cheeseburger, and Joshua a Kids Sampler. Thanks MOM!
1Thessalonians 5:18 "In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you".

Interesting

This is a WALL of Smarties. We had our friends Patrick and Lara over for dinner. We then played cards and ate goodies. Patrick built this wall so we could not see his cards.
Nehemiah 4:6 "So built we the wall; and all the wall was joined together unto the half thereof: for the people had a mind to work".

Corn, Corn, Corn

Our corn is ready! Our corn is done! Our corn is delicious, do you want some?
Jurney and Joshua had a lot of fun getting the corn ready to eat for our dinner last night! The kids have been in charge of the garden this year. They have worked very hard. They are now seeing their efforts pay off.

Psalms 126:5 "They that sow in tears shall reap in joy".

Lunch

We had a fun time eating lunch today at Ryan's parents house. Jurney is telling them about her "teen year end trip." We ate hamburgers, sloppy joes, chips, watermelon, cookies, and a delicious 7 layer salad that Mom made for us. We got to see our nieces who live in Mt. Green, Utah. also Ryan's brother Ken and sister Renee and her husband Klane were there.

1Colossians 10:31 "Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God"

Reformers

Last night was our first Friday night Reformers Meeting. It was on Principal #1. If God's against it, so am I. When we follow God we have boundaries. Boundaries make us safe. When we decide to do whatever we want to do, our drugs, our booze, our sin, we are trading boundaries (our freedom) for bondage (sin). We need to reject bondage by excepting God's boundaries. Believe God, trust God, follow God.
2Timothy 3:14-17 "But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works".

New Bed

My dad and Jaden spent several hours on Friday setting up my parents new waveless waterbed. Jaden was very good help to my dad. My parents decided that their old bed was shot. This bed is very comfortable! A big THANKS to Uncle Paul for help with the muscle work.
Proverbs 20:29 "The glory of young men is their strength: and the beauty of old men is the gray head".

Time Well Spent

Ryan and Joshua read the weekly paper yesterday together. With Ryan on his new shift it is very important that we use our time wisely and enjoy each moment.
Ephesians 6:4 "And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord."

I did it!

Today for the first time I, yes, me Shelley, was able to receive a fax. Now I would like to point out that I have never done anything like this before. I needed the fax to prove the money spent went to a eligible expense for our 2008 Flex Spending Account.
Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me".

Ticketed

Last night on Ryan's way home from work Ryan received a citation. We had not realized this, but our registration on the car had expired in February. Oops. So now Ryan's perfect record now is not so perfect. The officer informed him that he was lucky that he did not have the vehicle towed away. They have the right to do that if it has been over 3 months. Ryan has to wait 5 days to find out what he owes for the fine.
2Chronicles 15:4 "But when they in their trouble did turn unto the LORD God of Israel, and sought him, he was found of them".

Growing Up!

Josiah is now just over 3 months old. He is starting to roll from his tummy to his back. He is starting to play with toys, and laugh. It is a real joy to see him smile when he sees me.
Proverbs 23:24 "The father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice: and he that begetteth a wise child shall have joy of him".

Filling His Shoes

Joshua loves his dad. He looks up to him. Today he was trying on his dad's shoes. He did not get far in these.
Proverbs 23:25 "Thy father and thy mother shall be glad, and she that bare thee shall rejoice."

Camp Ready

Jurney and Jaden are getting ready to go to our annual Church Family Camp Out. They are very excited to go. Jaden is showing off his newly sharpened tomahawk. While Jurney is holding the new family tent. We are especially looking forward to the fellowship that we will have with our church family.
Acts 2:42 "And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers".

Reformers

Last night we had our weekly Reformers meeting at Antioch Baptist church. This week was on Principal #8. It is not possible to fight fleshly temptations with fleshly weapons. Addiction means anything I continue to do that is wrong, or bad for me. The core of addiction is SELF! How do we fight an addiction? By looking to Jesus. By making Jesus the center of our lives, our focus.
2 Corinthians 10: 3-5 "For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds; Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;"

Doctor Visit

Me and my mother went to the doctors today. When we got there however, we found out that her appointment was for 2pm and not 4. So we rescheduled her appointment and enjoyed the drive. She recently found out that she has Pulminary Hypertension. I love you mom.
Ephesians 6:2 "Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise;"

Trio!

Today at Antioch Baptist Church, Jurney sang with Dalton and Michael Brasel. They sang "Day By Day". That is one of my favorite songs. They did a wonderful job.
Psalms 95:1 "O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation."
